Following years of experience in training growers and greenhouse technical personnel, Ageon® has established the first Italian Hydroponic and Above Ground School (SITIF®) by AgeonTech®.

The courses, held by the technical director Dr. Vitangelo Di Pierro and his fellow AgeonTech® consultants are held in the classroom at the Ageon® headquarters in Borgo San Dalmazzo (CN), in the form of video lessons and also in situ at the premises and greenhouses of the client companies.

The lessons are divided into modules (see list in the table) that can be appropriately chosen by the students / clients according to their interest. Courses can be both individual and group based on the turnout and the specific requests of the individual modules. We also organize courses on behalf of individual companies with a personalized training plan.

SITIF® issues the student with a certificate of attendance and, at the request of the client company, can provide for an additional final exam with the attribution of grade.

Participation in the course entitles you to receive the presentations of the lessons in .pdf format and a nominative certificate of attendance.

In order to provide a small taste of the content of the educational modules, you can connect to our YouTube channel ( and view the movie “Greenhouse Technology_Macfrut 2020_Vitangelo Di Pierro_The irrigation strategy in soilless crops ”in particular from minute 5:01 onwards.

Regardless of the course in question, SITIF offers a much wider training offer, so I report below the answers to the most frequently asked questions relating to our courses.

  1. For details on the complete didactic offer, methods and costs, it is possible to consult the Hydroponic Courses – SITIF brochure.
  2. Lesson calendar: in case of interest of the individual student in a particular didactic module, it is possible to agree on a date in which to hold the course privately “face to face” (in person or via video connection); in case of interest of several students for the same didactic module, we will propose a single date in which to hold the course. As long as the Coronavirus emergency continues, group lessons will be held via webinar via videoconference. In order to be able to group the requests relating to the individual teaching modules, please reply to this e-mail indicating:a. Name and surname
    b. Company (optional)
    c. City
    d. Cellphone number
    e. Preferred days of the week to take the course
    f. Didactic modules of interest (indicate only the number as per the attached table)
  3. Registration: they are always open in case you opt for one of the two methods indicated in point 2.
  4. Requirements: the lessons are intended for everyone, there are no particular constraints. Given the agronomic nature of the topics covered in the courses, those who have already studied in Agricultural Institutes or at the Faculty of Agriculture are logically more advantaged in learning. However, the contents of the courses have a very pragmatic slant, therefore anyone who looks with interest in the management of soilless / hydroponic crops and in vertical farms can follow the courses, also thanks to the fact that during the exhibition it will be possible to submit questions to the speaker to which answers will be given during the course itself.
  5. Educational modules: there is no minimum number of modules to follow, everyone can choose the module / s of their interest in the case of private “face to face” lessons. In case of organization of courses with predetermined dates and modules, there will be the possibility to choose one or more modules to follow according to the preferences of each.
  6. Exercises: during the presentation of some modules there will be exercises that can be held both face to face and via video connection.
  7. Extra modules: the SITIF training offer is constantly updated therefore, beyond the list of modules provided in the annex, it is possible to ask SITIF to organize thematic courses on topics not included in the list of standard lessons . SITIF will evaluate the requests on a case-by-case basis and will respond to individual applicants to indicate their feasibility and related costs.
