To prevent solar exposure and subsequent algae growth on the metal mesh filter, position the sensor so that the gutter completely shields it from sunlight. Nevertheless, regular filter cleaning is recommended (<strong>cleaning guide<\/strong>). Furthermore, the gutter should be sufficiently inclined to allow drainage to flow smoothly into the box.<br \/>\nOnce the test gutter is overlaid on a pre-existing gutter, and after filtering and measuring the drainage, it can be directed onto the pre-existing channel via a drainage tube, or collecteded in a separate container for more in-depth EC and pH analysis (Figure 1 and 2).<\/p>\n<p>By overlapping the test gutter with a pre-existing drainage gutter, the drainage, once filtered and measured by the sensor, will be discharged directly onto the pre-existing gutter (picture 2) through small holes located at the bottom of the sensor. Alternatively (picture 1), it can be collected and used for EC and pH measurement.<\/p>\n<p>The cable connecting the drainage and irrigation meters to their respective radio transmitters has a base length of 1 meter, which does not allow to place it above the plant canopy (as is required for all sensors). To ensure optimal data transmission, place the sensor within 200-300 meters away from the Base Station, avoiding plant barriers.
