The Base Station is the core component of the IoT system. Once it receives data from sensors via radio signals, it collects and sends it to the cloud via the internet-connection. It is powered by electricity or, as an alternative, we can provide a small solar panel. Each one has a range of approximately 500 meters in a greenhouse, which can extend to up to 2 km in an open field through proper installation. It can connect to up to 100 sensors. The Base Station makes the system extremely flexible, working as a single data collection unit for multiple greenhouses and enabling online monitoring on MyAgeon platform. This allows you to visualize sensors live data in specific sections of the platform (greenhouses/irrigation sectors/crop type) and build your own customized visualization. Furthermore, this device is capable of resuming connection to sensors and the internet even in case of power or connection failure: it temporarily buffers data and uploads it later, once connection to the network is restored.
